of the universe. Shooting Star is an astrophotography contest for the budding
ones out there. Keep your eyes in the sky, and shoot for the stars!

Rules and Guidelines

Participants can submit photographs to sedsrec@rajalakshmi.edu.in in the following
categories:

1. Star Trails

2. Meteor Showers and Comets

3. Solar/Lunar Eclipses

4. Sun/Moon Haloes

5. Aurorae

6.Celestial Objects (The Moon and other planets in the
Solar System.)

• Participants can submit up to 10 photographs, and
more than 1 photograph can be submitted in any particular category.

• 3 best photographs from each category will be chosen,
from which 3 best photographs will be chosen overall as the final winners.

• Post-processing and editing is allowed to some
degree. Adjustments in brightness, saturation, sharpness, contrast and other
such minor aspects are permitted. Stacking is permitted.

• The following processing techniques are not allowed:

The usage of different focal lengths for the foreground
and background

The foreground and background imaged at different
locations

 Cloning or
painting over the image and other picture manipulations

•The photographs should be original and unpublished.
Plagiarism will lead to disqualification.

• The photographs should be submitted in JPEG format.

• The photographs should have been captured within the
last one year or later.
